Terms of Service

The short version

Safefind for Pets is a service from Stimz that sells NFC tags and hosts public profiles for the pets they belong to, so a finder can return them home fast. By creating an account or buying a tag, you agree to these terms.

We'll do our best to make alerts arrive fast and the service work reliably. You stay responsible for your pet's welfare — Safefind helps you find them faster, but it doesn't replace microchipping, vaccinations, or any other good ownership.

The service

When you buy a tag you get:

  • A physical NFC tag, shipped to your address
  • A claim code to pair the tag with a pet profile in your account
  • A public scan page, hosted by us, that anyone tapping your tag will see
  • Scan alerts via email and (optionally) SMS when the tag is scanned
  • 12 months of profile hosting from the day you claim the tag

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account secure, for the accuracy of your contact details, and for the content of the pet profile (photos, messages, etc.). If your contact details are wrong, we can't deliver scan alerts to you — please keep them up to date.

You must be at least 13 to use Safefind. If you're under 18, the account holder should be a parent or guardian.

Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

  • Create profiles for pets that aren't yours, or for fictional pets
  • Upload content that's misleading, threatening, harassing, or unlawful
  • Use the scan alert flow to harass, prank, or send unsolicited messages
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer the service, scrape it, or interfere with how it works for other users
  • Use Safefind for any pet care or service that requires regulated qualifications (we're not a vet, kennel, or licensed pet boarding service)

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these rules. Where suspension follows a refundable purchase, we'll refund any unused service in line with the next section.

Payments, shipping and refunds

Tag prices are shown in pound sterling (GBP) including VAT where applicable. Payment is processed by Stripe — we never see your full card details.

Under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel a tag purchase within 14 days of receiving it. The tag must be unused (unpaired and not encoded to a pet). To start a return, email hello@safefindpets.com. Once we receive the returned tag in unused condition we refund the purchase price within 14 days.

We ship to UK addresses within 2–3 working days of payment. We don't currently ship internationally.

Pet welfare disclaimer

Safefind helps you increase the chance of being reunited with a lost pet. It's a helpful tool, not a guarantee.

You remain fully responsible for your pet's welfare. We strongly recommend you also:

  • Microchip your pet at a registered vet (UK law for dogs and cats)
  • Keep your microchip database details up to date
  • Keep up with vaccinations and routine vet care
  • Use a regular ID disc with at least one phone number, as a backup to the NFC tag

We don't provide veterinary advice, behavioural advice, or any regulated pet care service.

Service availability

We aim for high availability but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. Scan alerts depend on third-party services (email, SMS, internet connectivity) that we don't control. We recommend treating Safefind as one layer of safety, not the only one.

We may make changes, additions, or removals to the service. Significant changes will be announced to account holders by email at least 14 days in advance where possible.

Liability

We'll always be liable for things we can't exclude by law — including death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any breach of your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

Aside from that, our maximum aggregate liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you've paid us in that period (for tags and profile hosting). We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses — for example, loss of business or distress not directly caused by our breach.

Lost pets are heartbreaking. We'll do everything we can to help, but we can't accept liability for the outcome of any specific scan or alert delivery.

Privacy

How we handle data is set out in our Privacy Policy. Please read it — accepting these terms is also acceptance of the privacy policy.

Termination

You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We can close accounts that breach these terms, with refund for any unused paid service.

On account closure, your data is removed in line with the Privacy Policy retention rules.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts, except where you have non-waivable consumer rights under your local law.
